Natur und Tugend
(Sung text for setting by E. Zumsteeg)
 Matches base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Der Fluren Grün, das Abendgold,
Der Wald auf steilen Höh'n,
Die Quelle, die durch Blumen rollt,
Ach, alles ist so schön!
Der Sterne funkelnd Heer bei Nacht
Und des Gewitters ernste Pracht
Zerreißt des Herzens Trauerflor,
Und hebt es frei zu Gott empor!

So lang die Unschuld hehr und still
In deinem Busen wohnt,
So lang du willst, was Tugend will,
Die einst mit Palmen lohnt,
So lange zeigt auch die Natur
Dir jeder Wonne Rosenspur,
In ihrem Schoße findest du
Auf Erden schon des Himmels Ruh.
