Im Mai
(Sung text for setting by O. Dresel)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mußt nicht allein im Freien,
Zu zweien mußt du geh'n,
Dann ist's im schönen Maien
Noch eins, noch eins so schön.

Die Blumen, die du pflückest,
Zerstreuet nicht der Wind,
Wenn du mit ihnen schmückest
Ein liebes, liebes Kind.

Und wenn der Maien bliebe
Die ganze Sommerzeit,
Bringt er dir nicht die Liebe,
Er wird dir balde leid.

Doch hast du ihn gefunden,
Laß blüh'n dann oder schnein,
Dann ist zu allen Stunden
Ein ganzer Frühling dein.
