Io son pur vezzosetta pastorella
(Sung text for setting by C. Monteverdi)
 Matches base text

mi porta ogni pastor perch'io l'inviti,
specchi, fior, frutti o vezzi di corallo.

E non saranno a te punto graditi,
caro Lidio, i miei sguardi?
E sempre in fallo ti pregherò,
crudel, che tu m'aiti?

Composition:

Set to music by Claudio Monteverdi (1567 - 1643), "Io son pur vezzosetta pastorella", published 1619 [ chorus ], from Libro VII de madrigali, no. 5, madrigal
