Maj
(Sung text for setting by A. Haquinius)
 See original
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
I ljusa skyar går solen,
till sång blir skymningens röst,
i doft den första violen
ren slumrat in vid ditt bröst.
Ock mitt hjärta, du kära, gömmer
en majkvälls strålande sol,
och djupt i min längtan drömmer
en daggig och vårtrött viol.

Det skymmer kring blåa vatten
och blundande blomsterland,
snart dör i den hvita natten
både dofters och färgers brand.
Men min ömhets sol, du kära,
skall purpra din majnatt röd,
och min längtans viol dig bära
sin blomdofts fagraste glöd.
