Kunstgenuß
(Sung text for setting by C. Ramrath)

Language: German (Deutsch)
 ...

Schönheit wird wie Glück empfangen:
Freude krönt dein bang Genießen,
und die Freude ein Verlangen,
sich als Liebe zu erschließen.
Denn der Schöpfung schöne Hülle
hält ihr Wesen wohlverwahrt,
ist von Reiz so spröd wie zart
und erschließt des Glückes Fülle
Dem nur, dessen eigne Art
die Art des Schöpfers offenbart.

Composition:

Set to music by Conrad Ramrath (1880 - 1972), "Kunstgenuß", op. 10 (Vier Lieder) no. 4, published 1906, stanza 3 [ voice and piano ], Berlin, Dreililien-Verglag

Text Authorship:

  • by Richard Fedor Leopold Dehmel (1863 - 1920), "Kunstgenuß"
