Vinternatt
(Sung text for setting by N. Berg)
 Matches base text
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Låt oss åka sakta,
låt oss dock betrakta
skogens vita slott,
golvens marmorstenar,
vita valv av grenar,
som till himlen nått.

Ej ett snöstoft röres,
under valven höres
ingen vinds musik,
snön har rett alkover,
och därinne sover
sommarns frusna lik.

Iskristaller stöda
lägret, där den döda
sig till vila lagt,
vita sängomhängen
sväva över sängen,
enar hålla vakt.

Och metalliskt kalla
månestrålar falla
ned i öde sal,
och från alla kanter
gnistra diamanter
i oändligt tal.

Stjärnorna med sorgens
silver smycka borgens
genombrutna tak,
dunkla skuggor glida
sakta genom vida
skymtande gemak.
