An meine Rose
 (Sung text for setting by C. Bauer)
 Matches base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich hab' im Herzen dich getragen,
da du so blühend warst und schön,
ich hab' dich tief und still' geliebet
ob's auch dein Auge nicht geseh'n.

Jetzt wo du wank'st vom Sturm getroffen,
wo dich ein früher Herbst zerbricht;
Jetzt will ich deine Thränen trocknen
du bleiche Rose! ich lass' dich nicht!

Composition:

    Set to music by Charlotte Bauer , "An meine Rose", op. 6 (Drei Lieder) no. 2, published 1857 [ voice and piano ], note: the score says "Gedicht von H. Heine" but it does not appear to be true

Text Authorship:

  • by Anonymous / Unidentified Author
  • sometimes misattributed to Heinrich Heine (1797 - 1856)
