Entra-me o peito como um largo rio
De ondas de ouro e de luz, límpido entrando
o ermo de um bosque solitário e frio.

Fala-me! Em grupos doudejantes, quando
Falas, por noites cálidas de estio
As estrelas acendem-se radiando,
Altas, semeadas pelo céu sombrio.

Olha-me assim! Fala-me assim! De pranto
agora, agora de ternura cheia
Abre em chispas de fogo essa pupila...

E enquanto eu ardo em sua luz, enquanto
em seu fulgor me abraso, uma sereia
soluce e cante nessa voz tranqüila.
