Die stille See
 (Sung text for setting by B. Molique)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es schläft die See! sie schläft in dunkler Nacht,
Kein Licht'gen ist Heut aufgewacht,
Kein Lüft'gen ist gekommen;
So schläft ein Herz von Leid erfüllt,
In Schweigen dicht und tief verhüllt,
Und jedem Wunsch entnommen.
Es tont von ferne Schiffersang
Voll Wehmuth und voll sanftem Klang,
Er singt sich selbst den Frieden;
O Hoffnung komm, o Lebenslust,
Zieht ein in die verlassne Brust!
Wo find' ich euch? hienieden?
