by Christoph August Tiedge (1752 - 1841)

Die kleine Ida
Language: German (Deutsch)
Heute, Mutter, laß mich springen!
Hof und Garten sind schon grün;
die erwachten Vögel singen,
und die bunten Blumen blühn.

Heimlich kam der Mai gegangen,
Anemonen auszustreun;
Anger, Wies’ und Hügel prangen,
Wo sich weiße Lämmer freun.

Wenn die Schäferflöten schallen:
O, wie lustig tanzen sie!
Wenn sie auch mitunter fallen,
Ihre Mütter schelten nie.

Alles drängt und treibt nach außen:
Ida kann fürwahr nicht ruhn!
Was die Lämmer thun da draußen,
Das kann auch wohl Ida Thun!
