by Robert Maurmeier (1862 - 1931)

Halt' dich Gott in seiner Hut!
Language: German (Deutsch)
Goldwölkelein sie flogen am Abendhimmel her,
sie sind zur Ruh gezogen hinab in's tiefe Meer;
geschlichen kam die schwarze Nacht
und hat der Welt den schlaf gebracht.

Weisst du, wie weh das Scheiden thut?
Halt' dich Gott in seiner Hut!

Nun zieh' ich meine Strassen,
fahr wohl, mein Lieb' und Glück;
Euch beide muss ich lassen,
kein' Freud bleibt mir zurück!
So du mich liebst, gedenke mein!
mein Glück soll auf der Welt nicht sein!
