La sorrentina
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Io tividi a Piedegrotta
tutta gioia e tutta festa,
da la mamma eri condotta,
ori e perle a vevi in testa;
un corpetto gallonato,
la pettiglia dibroccato,
una gonna cremisina,
un sorriso da incantar...
e la bella Sorrentina
ti sentivo domandar!

Da quell'ora non ho pace,
Notte e dì sospiro e gemo,
Più la pesca non mi piace,
Per te sol maneggio il remo...
La mia povera barchetta
A Sorrento affretta, affretta,
Ogni sera, ogni mattina
Io quì vengo a lamentar...
Ma tu, ingrata Sorrentina,
Non ti muovi al mio pregar!

Mi rattrista la bonaccia,
Mi sgomenta la procella,
Se non miro ia tua faccia,
Sola mia fidata stella,
L'altro giorno in gran periglio
Vidi il logoro naviglio,
Sulle arene di Resina
Stetti lì per affondar...
Ma, crudele Sorrentina,
Tu non badi al mio penar!

Se dai fine al mio tormento,
Cuor di Tigre e non di Donna,
D'una lampada d'argento
Faro dono a la Madonna...
Ma che miro!..il ciel s'annera,
Più non veggo la costiera...
Cresce il vento, il sol dechina,
Son respinto in allo mar!
O spietata Sorrentina,
Per te vado a naufragar!
