I min Drøm jeg saae ham. Jeg hviled blødt.
        Han kom, min Sjæl at husvale.
Paa min Læbe brændte hans Læbe sødt -
        Nu de sovende Læber tale!
 
Jeg er Bjergets Due; min Sjæl er din;
        Min Ørn! jeg skuer dig atter;
I min Viinløvsal du, som før, er min,
        Bringer Sommer til Bjergets Datter.
 
Har vor Viinstok Skud? springer Rosen ud?
        Har Figentræerne Knopper?
Bringer Turtelduen os Elskovsbud?
        Stod der Blomster, hvor Kiddet hopper?
 
See! endnu den dufter min Dudaim,
        Den første Blomst, du mig rakte -
I dens Krone slumred smaa Elohim —
        Ak! Cherubernes Sværd dem vakte.
