by Mathilde Beckmann-Raven (1817 - 1902)

So flüchtig
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die laue Lenznacht durchklingen
Der Nachtigall schmeichelnde Lieder;
Die Rose senkt selig das Köpfchen
Und hebet erröthend es wieder.

Sie duftet und glühet voll Wonne,
Ihr gilt ja der Nachtigall Sehnen:
Da plötzlich beugt sie sich traurig,
Die Augen voll blinkender Thränen.

„Du bist ja so glücklich, o Rose!
Was weinst Du und beugst Dich so trübe?
Sie seufzet: Ach, daß auch so flüchtig,
So kurz ist Leben und Liebe!
