Verse 1 Glunten: Nu tror jag det kan vara tid att tänka på refrängen och efter dagens strid och frid bege sig hem i sängen . . . Magistern: Och drömma någon ljuvlig dröm om gull och gröna skogar, ett eget bo, en hälft så öm och här och där små krogar. Both: Rectissime! Strictissime! Skål, frater amantissime! Ett eget bo, etc. Verse 2 Glunten: I pipan flämtar re’n så matt och rökigt sista ljuset – Stå på dig, dank! Var är min hatt? Mamsell, vad kostar ruset? Magistern: Hon redan från sin disk har gått i bäddens kvava iden och drömmer nu om stort och smått men inte om likviden. Both: Rectissime! Strictissime! Skål, frater amantissime! Och drömmer nu etc. Verse 3 Glunten: Slå i den sista skvätten nu och skål för Mälar-Banken, som hjälper tu och stjälper sju . . . Se så, nu slocknar danken. Magistern: Nu syns ej hur man häller i; vad mörker är försåtligt! Om här man skulle fuller bli’, så är det ju förlåtligt. Both: Rectissime! Strictissime! Skål, frater amantissime! Om här man skulle etc. Verse 4 Glunten: Se där, hur månen sniken står och glor bakom gardinen! Vad vill han, bror? Jag ej förstår den fadda pantomimen. Magistern: Han leds att, ex officio full, ej få en ärlig droppe. Det måtte vara fan till tull på sådana där oppe! Both: Rectissime! Strictissime! Skål, frater amantissime! Det måtte vara fan etc. Verse 5 Glunten: Stig in och hämma nu din gråt! Vi ska nog lindra svedan; tänd blott ett ny åt oss och låt se’n världen gå i nedan! Magistern: Nej se ej på mig se så där med vemodsblicken djupa! För kära kan den vara kär. men ej för dem, som supa. Both: Rectissime! Strictissime! Skål, frater amantissime! För kära etc. Verse 6 Glunten: Ack, nu förstår jag vad han vill: han lyser mitt på låset och tål ej att vi sitta still och längre smörja kråset. Magistern: Nå, morgens då! Från sus och dus jag stilla hemåt vankar. Vad äro alla jordens ljus mot en av himlens dankar? Both: Rectissime! Strictissime! Skål, frater amantissime!
