L'enfant morte a levé ses deux mains
Sans effort malgré les chevilles,
Et s'en est allée sur le chemin.

Alors des anges l'ont prise par les mains,
Toute diaphane dans la forêt sous la lune,
Et l'ont emmenée sur le chemin.

Mais le sang des petites mains
Fige des perles et des rubis roses
Inépuisablement sur le chemin.
