Schwör' mir nicht den tollen Schwur 
Von der Ewigkeit, 
Über menschliche Natur 
Geht das ewig weit.

Schwöre mir, wenn Du mir schwörst,
Einen Liebesschwur,
Daß Du heut' mir angehörst,
Schwöre das mir nur.

Schwöre, daß Du heute willst, 
Morgen mir gehören. 
Daß Du solchen Schwur erfüllst,
Wird Dein Glück nicht stören.

Mörgen schwöre dann auf's Neu' 
Mir den heut'gen Eid,
Dann weiß ich, Du bleibst mir treu
Bis in Ewigkeit!

Confirmed with Vollständige Sammlung von Gelegenheitsgedichten, ..., gesammelt und herausgegeben von Ludwig Löhner, Nürnberg, Verlag der von Ebner'schen Buchhandlung, 1840, page 208. No author is given for this poem in this anthology; we surmise it is by Cornberg only because it is first in the cycle by Marschner, and Cornberg is the first poet listed in the cycle's title.
