O wie lockst du mich aus dem Zimmer,
goldiger, kühler Sommertag!
Lindenduft und Sonnenschimmer,
Quellengeriesel und Finkenschlag.

Glänzende Berge, rauschende Wälder,
Himmel so blau und sonntäglich!
Duftige Wiesen, wogende Felder,
Wanderlust, o wie lockst du mich!

Lustige Fahrt in Bergen und Klüften,
wonnige Reise im Sonnenschein!
Fahrende Wolken in blauen Lüften, -
soll ich euer Geselle sein? -

ziehen im blauen Äther so munter,
kühl ist die Luft und der Himmel so weit;
und ich wand're bergauf und bergunter
durch die rauschende Herrlichkeit.

Lindenduft und Sonnengefunkel,
Finkenschlag und Quellengebraus',
wie ihr mich lockt aus des Zimmers Dunkel
in die strahlende Welt hinaus!
