Die Mühle
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich weiß eine Mühle
Dort drüben im Hain,
Da möcht' ich wohl gerne
Die Müllerin sein,

Da wohnet mein Liebster,
Ein schüchterner Knab',
Ach, könnt' er nur wißen,
Wie lieb ich ihn hab'!

Ich weiß ein Mühle,
Kein Müller ihr naht.
D'rin rauschet das Bächlein,
D'rin dreht sich das Rad,

D'rin klopft es beständig,
Hat Rast nicht und Ruh';
Mein Herz ist die Mühle,
Der Müller sei Du!

Confirmed with Konstantin Julius Becker, Der Neuromantiker, erster Band, erster Theil, Leipzig: J. J. Weber, 1840, Page 60.
