Nachts zu Sanct Johannis wisst ihr was geschah?
Da wünscht' ich mir 'nen Liebsten, horcht, er ist schon da!
Blond sind seine Locken, schwarz sein Augenpaar!
Sprach auch von der Liebe, als bei mir er war,
und er sprach so zärtlich, als bei mir er war!

Viele schöne Lieder, singt mein holder Knab',
könnt ihr's nun begreifen, dass ich lieb ihn hab?
Doch am allerliebsten mir mein Friedel ist,
wenn er mich so zärtlich und so innig küsst!
