by Georg Christian Dieffenbach (1822 - 1901)

Im Sommer
Language: German (Deutsch)
   Hoch und leuchtend steht die Sonne
An dem blauen Himmelszelt;
Leise woget hin und wieder
Dort das goldne Aehrenfeld.

   Stille ist es [aller Orten,]1
Alles ruhet, alles schweigt;
Selbst die Blumen find entschlafen,
Matt und müd' das Haupt geneigt.

   Kaum ein Lüftchen will sich regen,
Stille ist der Vöglein Lied,
Leise murmelnd nur das Bächlein
Durch die stillen Fluren zieht.

   In des Baumes [kühlem]2 Schatten
Lieg' ich da in süßer Ruh,
Schaue träumend diesem tiefen
Stillen Sommerleben zu.
