by Adolf Schirmer (1821 - 1886)

Huldigung
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mit wunderlichtem Prangen
War hold der Lenz erwacht,
Er küßte mir die Wangen,
Da hat mein Herz gelacht;
Er küßte mich aufs Herze,
Da hab' ich still geweint,
Im süßen Liebesschmerze
Zu sterben fast gemeint.

Nun ist ein helles Klingen
In meiner Brust erwacht,
Die Silbertöne springen
Hervor aus tiefem Schacht;
Sie tanzen durch die Auen
Im goldnen Sonnenschein --
Der allerschönsten Frauen
Will ich sie lächelnd weihn.

Confirmed with Album der neuern deutschen Lyrik, Volume 2, Zweite Auflage, Leipzig, F. A. Brockhaus, 1856, pages 247-248.
