Leben begehren ist der Welt Trost allein, Des Todes Furcht sieht ängstllich da herein. Davon möchte verdorren ein Mann, der das erfasst, Wie manche Freude in Leid vergeht und Last. Niemand könnte erdenken eine grössere Not, Dass uns nichts gewisser erwartet als der Tod. Da nimmt es mich Wunder, hat ein Mensch noch frohen Mut, Wenn des Leibes Süsse der Seele wehe tut.
