Kein Stern will grüßend funkeln, In Wolken hängt die Nacht; Doch geht durchs Tal im Dunkeln Ein Säuseln lau und sacht. Geheimnisvolles Wallen Kommt von den Wipfeln her, Einzelne Tropfen fallen Wie Tränen heiß und schwer. Mir ist, als könnt' ich spüren Im Wind, im Dufte der Flur, Wie sich die Kräfte rühren Der schaffenden Natur. Ach, mir im Busen ringt es So dunkelmächtig auch, Da brütet's, und da klingt es Bewegt vom Frühlingshauch. Es rührt der Saft sich wieder In meines Lebens Baum. Ist's Liebe? Sind es Lieder? Noch unterscheid' ich's kaum.
