by Emanuel von Geibel (1815 - 1884)

Nun der Lenz im Forste wieder
Language: German (Deutsch)
Nun der Lenz im Forste wieder
Klingend zieht durch alle Bäume,
Kommen tages mir die Lieder,
Kommen mir bei Nacht die Träume;

Lieder, die vom Glücke sagen,
Das dahinging mit der einen,
Träume, die zu ihr mich tragen
Und erwacht mich machen weinen.

Und dazwischen Glanz der Sonne,
Junger Leichtsinn, neues Sehnen,
Alle tolle Frühlingswonne,
Lachend in die frischen Tränen.

Rastlos in die blühnden Heiden
Stürm' ich fort, ohn' umzuwenden;
Freuden stürmen nach und Leiden -
Lenz, o Lenz, wie soll das enden!
