Si j'avais comme vous, mignardes colombelles,
Des plumages si beaux sur mon corps attachés,
On aurait beau tenir mes esprits empêchés
De l'indomptable fer de cent chaînes nouvelles,

Sur les ailes du vent je guiderais mes ailes,
J'irais jusqu'au séjour où mes biens sont cachés, 
Ainsi, voyant de moi ces ennuis arrachés, 
Je ne sentirais plus ces absences cruelles.

Colombelles, hélas ! que j'ai bien souhaité
Que mon corps vous semblât autant d'agilité,
Que mon âme d'amour à votre âme ressemble :

Mais quoi ! je le souhaite, et me trompe d'autant.
Ferais-je bien voler un amour si constant
D'un monde tout rempli de vos ailes ensemble ?
