    Qui se sauve quand on l'appelle : 
        L'amour est pareil. 

Il met le nez partout où il n'aurait que faire 
  Et rend le mari fou de sa voisine, 
Et sa femme amoureuse du clerc de notaire. 

Il s'amuse à brouiller le cœur des belles 
Comme des billes dans un sac de soie fine, 
Et vient quand personne ne l'appelle. 

Mais sitôt qu'on voudrait voir ses oreilles 
Il fuit et montre sa queue au bout des venelles, 
        Mesdemoiselles :
