Si vous m'avez donné le véritable ami,
De plus rien je n'ai cure et de plus rien envie,
Dans la sécurité mon cœur s'est endormi.

Communiquer sa peine et partager sa joie,
Rien ne console ainsi ne réconforte mieux,
Quand sous le deuil trop grand notre humanité ploie
Pour pleurer il est doux d'avoir plus de deux yeux.

Sous le malheur de glace et le bonheur de flamme,
Diminuant le mal, amplifiant le bien,
Pour aimer il est doux de compter plus d'une âme,
Et pour se dévouer de ne plus compter rien.
