Chorus: Schließt in dieser Feierstunde Hand in Hand zum trauten Bunde Freunde herzlich frölich ein, Laßt uns alle Brüder seyn! Solo: Freundschaft, Schöpferin der Freuden, Du versüßest unsre Leiden Durch das sanfte Mitgefühl; Wann Gefahren uns umthürmen, Leitest du in Unglücks Stürmen Sichern Pfades uns zum Ziel. Chorus: Wann uns Heuchler hämisch grollen, Feinde frech zernichten wollen, Vor Verfolgung Haß und Spott, Schützt uns Freundschaft stark wie Gott. Solo: Alle schmachten wir nach Liebe, Angelockt durch sanfte Triebe, Lechzen nach des Lebens Lust. Wie verwandte Körper ziehen Sich durch Hang der Sympathien Gleiche Wesen Brust an Brust. Chorus: Trinket aus der Liebe Schaale Bei dem großen Wonnemale, Ihre Labung ist so süß, Sie entzückt ins Paradies! Solo: In des Schicksals Labirinthen Dulden, streben, suchen, finden, Wollen wir mit Kraft und Muth. O Natur! du gabst den Menschen Vieles Gutes, was sie wünschen Zu erfüllen, wär' nicht gut. Chorus: Froh weckt uns die gold'ne Sonne Zum Genuß der Lebenswonne, Sanft wiegt uns der Mondenschein In dem Schoos der Ruhe ein. Solo: Alle Menschen sollen leben! Trinkt vom Himmelssaft der Reben, Der uns Thatenfeuer schafft! Nie entweiht beim Minnespiele Und Genuß die Hochgefühle, Schont des Geistes Götterkraft! Chorus: In die Harmonie der Freuden Jauchzt im Einklang froher Saiten, Durch die Adern der Natur, Wallt ein Strom der Freude nur.
