Par les cantons des villes et villettes ?
Qu’est-il besoin d’huissiers ni de trompettes
Pour la paix faite publier ?
 
Il vaudrait mieux, en criant, Dieu prier
Qu’il la gardât de troubles inquiètes ;
Il vaudrait mieux, en chantant chansonnettes,
Vive le Roy porte-paix, s’écrier.
 
Sans autre bruit assez est publiée
La paix, de ceux, qui mille et mille fois
La désirant ont fait si grands abois.
 
Sans autre cri assez jà est criée
La paix, de ceux qui l’ont si haut priée
Que Dieu au ciel en a ouy la voix.
