Mein Herz ahnte sein Leben kaum es schlief 
Bis eines Tags die Liebe kam und rief:
wach auf aus deinem Schlaf und lass mich ein;

Da zitterte zum erstenmal mein Herz; 
Es kam mit Liebesherrlichkeit der Schmerz!
Doch lieber ist mir alles Leid als Schlaf, 
Und unvergesslich, dass dein Blick mich traf.
