Das Fischermädchen
Language: German (Deutsch)
 Das Fischermädchen harret
 Am Ufer auf und ab;
 Sein müdes Auge starret
 Die Wogenflut hinab.

 Kein Schifflein war zu sehen,
 Ach, Alles, Alles leer!
 Kein Segel sah es wehen
 Im großen, weiten Meer.

 Sie maß die blauen Wogen,
 Sie hofft' in ihrem Sinn,
 All' ihre Blicke flogen
 Zum fernen Eiland hin.

 Den Trauten sah sie kommen
 Vom fernen Eiland her,
 Sein Schifflein kam geschwommen,
 Durch's ungestüme Meer.

 Die lauten Wellen brausen
 Am nackten Felsenstrand,
 Die Abendstürme saußen,
 Das Schifflein, ach, verschwand!

 Das Mädchen setzt sich nieder,
 Sein Augen Tränenschwer:
 "Gieb mir den Trauten wieder,
 Du wildes falsches Meer!"
