in Madrid io debuttai,
feci un'opera, e cascai;
e col mio bagaglio addosso
me ne corsi a più non posso
in Castiglia e nella Mancia,
nell'Asturie, in Catalogna;
poi passai nell'Andalusia,
e girai l'Estremadura,
come ancor sierra Morena:
ed in fin nella Galizia;
in un luogo bene accolto,
in un altro in lacci avvolto;
ma però di buon umore,
d'ogni evento superior.

Col sol rasoio,
senza contanti,
facendo barbe
