by Adolphe Catelin (1806 - 1875)

Le petit oiseau
Language: French (Français)
Il pleut, il vente, il grêle,
Le ciel se fond en eau ;
Sur une branche frêle
Tremble un petit oiseau.

Blessé juste sous l'aile
Il ne peut s'agiter ;
C'est en vain qu'il appelle
Qu'il voudrait s'abriter.

Il a vu fuir ses frères
Et reste seul, hélas !
Aux rives étrangères
Il ne les suivra pas.

La nuit vient et l'orage
A brisé le rameau ;
Adieu ton doux ramage,
Pauvre petit oiseau !
