by Ida (Maria Regina), Freiin von Culoz (1827 - c1877), as Leo Pérez de Leon

Am Meere
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wenn bang das Herz, die Seele schwer,
Dann geh' ich gern zum Strand,
Hinaus zu dir, viel liebes Meer,
Wo Mancher Frieden fand.
In Ruh' und Sturmesgrimme
Aufhorch' ich deine Stimme.

In deinem Riesensang verklingt
Der Erde kurzes Leid;
Du singst ein Lied, das Grüß bringt
Vom Strand der Ewigkeit;
Fortspülend ird'sche Schranken
Den wogenden Gedanken.

Confirmed with Der Kobold, zweiter Jahrgang, ed. by Carl Pfeifer, Graz: C. Tanzers Buchdruckerei, 1863, page 93. Appears in issue no. 10, dated 9 März 1863.
