The little people
Language: English
Can’t you hear them blowing, fairy horns ablowing,
When the winds are sleeping, when the world is still?
Fairy stars are glowing, fairy horns are blowing,
Far and near, sweet and clear, over heath and hill –
Can’t you hear them blowing?

	Hear the call, mortals all,
	Don your silver shoon,
Come and join the little people,
	‘Neath the fairy moon.

Can’t you see them playing, elfin folk a-playing,
When the weary night bird folds her downy wing?
Elfin flowers are swaying, elfin folk are playing,
Airy light, dewy bright, round the fairy ring.
Can’t you see them playing?

	Hear the call, mortals all,
	Don your silver shoon,
Come and join the little people,
	‘Neath the fairy moon.

Come and join the dancing, airy fairy dancing,
Through a show’r of moonbeams floats the fairy bliss.
Come and join the dancing, magic, magic dancing,
Come away, come away, snatch an elfin kiss,
Snatch an elfin kiss.

	Hear the call, mortals all,
	Don your silver shoon,
Come and join the little people,
	‘Neath the fairy moon.
