by Johann Nepomuk Vogl (1802 - 1866)

Mit einer Rose
Language: German (Deutsch)
Eine Rose send' ich dir,
eine junge frische Rose,
die erblüht aus grünem Moose;
nimm die Rose noch von mir.

Rose deutet Liebe dir,
Liebe wird den Pfad dir schmücken,
wird dein junges Herz entzücken;
nimm die Rose d'rum von mir!

Nimm die Rose noch von mir!
Ohne Lieb' ist nun mein Leben,
d'rum als Abschiedszeichen geben
kann ich nur die Rose dir.

Diese Rose send' ich dir,
dass du mög'st noch mein gedenken,
wenn sich ihre Blätter senken:
Wie der Rose ging es mir!

Confirmed with Neuer Lieder-Frühling von Johann N. Vogl, Wien, 1841.
