En soupirant t'arrive !
Adieu, Lyda ; je viendrai chaque jour
T'attendre ici ; mais presse ton retour,
Si tu veux que je vive !

Sans toi, du ciel l'azur est nébuleux,
Du rossignol le chant mélodieux
A des accents funèbres ...
La rose perd son enivrante odeur,
L'eau son crystal, le matin sa fraîcheur,
Le jour n'est que ténèbres !

Hier encor tout n'était que bonheur,
Parfum, lumière, harmonie et douceur
Avant l'adieu suprême !
Tu pars, hélas ! Mais mon regard te suit
Comme il suivrait une étoile la nuit ...
Reviens, Lyda ! je t'aime !
