Liebchen in der Ferne
Language: German (Deutsch)
Liebchen in der Ferne,
Schlummerst wohl schon süß,
Träumst auf weichem Pfühle
Dir dein Paradies.

Träumst von Lenz und Liebe,
Die dein Herz erfüllt,
Und im Traume lächelt
Dir ein liebes Bild! --

Liebchen in der Ferne,
Hast die lange Nacht
Wohl in stillen Thränen
Schlummerlos durchwacht? --

Ach! im heißen Busen
Schlägt das Herz so wild,
Und sein banges Sehnen
Hat kein Traum gestillt! --

Liebchen in der Ferne,
Schlumm're ruhig ein,
Denke, daß wir Alle
Gottes Kinder sein!

Und zum Vater beten
Wollen Beide wir,
Daß er Frieden gebe,
Frieden dir und mir!
