Petite sérénade
Language: French (Français)
Comme un voile noir sur Grenade
La nuit s'étend ;
Voici l'heure où la sérénade
Déjà s'entend.
Aux pâles rayons de la lune,
Guitare en main,
Je chante Rosita la brune
Jusqu'à demain.

Et ma plaintive séguidille,
Bien tendrement,
A cette perle de Castille
Dit mon tourment,
Mon ivresse, les jours d'alarmes,
Les soirs joyeux ;
Et tout ému, je sens des larmes
Emplir mes yeux !

Soudain, dans l'ombre, sa fenêtre
S'ouvre sans bruit ;
Ma Rosita daigne paraître :
Tout chagrin fuit !
J'entends sa voix, la mienne tremble,
Divin émoi,
Et l'Amour et l'Espoir ensemble
Chantent en moi !
