Ich merkt' es gleich als mich ihr Blau So jäh gesezt in Flammen: Von drunten nicht von ew'ger Au Muß solch ein Leuchten stammen! Doch hüte dich! Verzehrt der Strahl, Den du geraubt, mein Leben: Dem Himmel wirst für meine Qual Du müßen Rechnung geben!

Note: in many older editions, the spelling of the word "Äuglein" becomes "Aeuglein", but as can be seen in how "über" becomes "Ueber" when capitalized, this is due to the printing process and not to rules of orthography, so we use "Äuglein".
