by Eduard Kreuzhage (1874 - 1956)

Aus der stillen Waldkapelle
Language: German (Deutsch)
Aus der stillen Waldkapelle,
Hoch vom Berg in's Thal hinein
Ruft das Glöcklein silberhelle:
Nun soll Ruh' und Frieden sein.

Und der Wind vom Bergeshange
Trägt den Ruf durch Wald und Flur,
Und es lauscht dem Feierklange
Abendstille die Natur.

Einsam ruhen alle Felder,
Und das Abendroth vergeht,
Leise rauschen alle Wälder
Ihr geheimes Nachtgebet.

Schlummere sanft, o Welt, du müde,
Sterne halten droben Wacht,
Und das Glöcklein lätet Friede,
Einen Engelsgruß zur Nacht.
