Savez-vous, ô ma déesse, Ma beauté, Aimer la blonde caresse De l'été ? Tresse tes cheveux, où glisse Le frison Et viens t'en dire à la brise Ta chanson ! Vois, les rayons étincellent, Flots vermeils, Et du haut du ciel ruissellent Des soleils. Entends-tu la villanelle Du zéphir, Quand le sylphe ouvre son aile De saphir, Le char sur la route claire Qui gémit, Dans un voile de poussière Passe et fuit ? Vois, l'œil bleu de la pervenche Est moins pur Que la colombe n'est blanche Dans l'azur ! Viens voir rougir les cerises, Fleur d'amour, Viens, viens par les sentes grises Tout le jour !
