by Georg Theodor Klein (1829 - 1865)

In der Stille
Language: German (Deutsch)
In der Stille sammle dich,
Wenn des Lebens Wetter tosen,
Und dein letzter Stern erblich
Mit der letzten deiner Rosen.

In der Stille deiner Brust
Schlumm're jener Lenz begraben,
Den mit seiner jungen Lust
Stürme längst entblättert haben.

In der Stille rüste dich,
Neue Wetter zu bestehen,
Und sie werden sicherlich
Nicht an dir vorübergehen!

In der Stille wird alsdann
Deines Herzens Rinde thauen,
Und, ein neugebor'ner Mann,
Wirst du muthig vorwärts schauen!

Confirmed with Deutsches Museum, vierzehnter Jahrgang, ed. by Robert Prutz, Leipzig: F. A. Brockhaus, 1864, page 819. Appears in issue no. 23, dated 9 Juni 1864.
