Hyp, min hest, lad ploven gå
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Hyp, min hest, lad ploven gå,
pløje ned hvert stubbestrå,
lokke frem den slugne larve,
den kan spurv og krage arve,
rydde op det onde kuld,
skørne godt den hårde muld.

Denne mark jeg har så kær,
den er bøgeskoven nær,
den har stork, og den har lærke,
den har Danmarks modermærke.
Mod en gammel kæmpegrav
vinden stryger ind fra hav.

Ak, jeg véd et pløjeland,
nu for os en fremmed strand,
torn og tidsler har det døjet,
og med kugler er det pløjet,
dog så dansk i bund og grund,
som en mark ved Øresund.

Men når timen er dertil,
og når hævnens herre vil,
skal med ham vi få og svage
trøstig pløje det tilbage,
spænde Gefions øksne for,
til vor søndre mark er vor!
