L'Angélus
Language: French (Français)
Sonnez, cloches mystérieuses,
Faites trembler les vieilles tours ;
Du haut des voûtes orgueilleuses
Jetez vos sons aux alentours.

J'aime vos voix aériennes,
Qui vont chercher Dieu dans le Ciel
Et portent, des fêtes chrétiennes,
L'encens aux pieds de l'Eternel.

J'aime les strophes gracieuses,
Que vous chantez sur un berceau,
Je vous aime, ô cloches pieuses,
Quand vous pleurez sur un tombeau.

Mais je vous aime mieux encore,
Quand, le soir, vous lancez au ciel
De votre voix large et sonore
L'hymne de l'ange Gabriël:

« Ave Maria ! » Saint cantique,
Comme l'ange, sois immortel !
Salutation angélique,
Monte chaque soir vers le Ciel !
