Ständchen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Schläfst du, Holde? Ach, der Schlummer
flieht von meinem Angesicht,
denn mir bringt die Nacht nur Kummer,
und der Tag verscheucht ihn nicht.

Doch den Sternen will ich's sagen,
wie die Liebe wacht in mir.
Meine Seufzer, meine Klagen
dringen durch die Nacht zu dir.

Doch du schlummerst, ach, du hörest
nicht der Liebe heißes Fleh'n.
Was du wachend nicht gewährest,
wirst du schlummernd zugesteh'n?

O vielleicht; lass mich es hoffen,
ist dein Traum doch mir so mild,
und dein Arm ist endlich offen,
ach! nur für mein Schattenbild!
