by Friedrich (Fritz) Maximilian Hessemer (1800 - 1860)

Die beiden Sänger
Language: German (Deutsch)
Das Vöglein singt so freundlich hell
und schwimmt im Frühlingsschimmer;
es steigt ins Blaue, fliegt so schnell
und singen will es immer.
So geht es meinem Herzen oft
in Wonne und in Leiden,
und was es glaubt, und was es hofft,
will es in Lieder kleiden.

Will's Vöglein in der Himmelsbläu'
denn immerfort sich wiegen?
O nein, es taucht herab aufs Neu',
zum Nestchen will es fliegen.
Und ist bei mir ein Liedchen aus,
wohin soll ich mich schwingen?
Ich hab' kein Lieb, ich hab' kein Haus,
d'rum muss ich immer singen.
