Petite Marguerite
Language: French (Français)
Petite Marguerite
Un jour ainsi parlait
À la belle Brigitte
Qui tout bas l'effeuillait:
"Mais tu commets un crime
Quand ta tremblante main
Immole une victime
Pour savoir ton destin;
C'est à la providence
Qu'il te faut chaque jour
Demander en silence
Un pur est saint amour.

Cette blanche parure
Me venait du Seigneur;
Ce matin brise pure
Raffraîchissait mon coeur;
Par ton léger caprice,
Enfant, je vais mourir;
Tu crois que mon supplice
Révèle l'avenir."

Mais Brigitte était bonne;
S'agenouillant soudain,
Elle dit: "Fleur mignonne,
Sois toujours sur mon sein."
"Merci", dit la pauvrette,
"L'Eternel bénira
Ton hymen qui s'apprête
Et ma voix te dira."
