Allen großen Blumen rot und blau
schenkt der Morgen reichen Silbertau,
nur auf dich, Stiefmütterchen,
kommt im Jahr kein Lichterchen:
Ach, zu winzig ist dein Blütenbau!

Doch es ist nicht gut so große zu sein:
Stürme biegen selbst die Größten klein!
Aber dich, Stiefmütterchen,
ängstigt kein Gewitterchen,
in dein kleines Glück bricht niemand ein!
